Hosted VOIP PBX Solution

Are you still using the old analog PABX? It’s time to switch over and go digital!

While the biggest savings come from lower toll charges of a digital PABX, most clients find other features such as: Voice Mail Box, easy to configure IVR (Integrated Voice Response System), and user mobility as among some of the unbeatable features that old analogue PBX can not offer.

Voice mail box allows your callers to leave you their name, number and message when they call you after office hours. You can then retrieve the voice mail either from your handset, or have it sent to your email!

IVR allows you to service common caller queries by programming voice responses to serve them. For example, the IVR system can say ” Press 9 to find out our great offers for the day!” and when the caller presses “9”, a pre-recorded message will tirelessly deliver your latest product promotions!

Mobility allows you and your staff to travel anywhere with their handsets, plug it to the internet, and all calls to the same extension will ALWAYS go to that handset! Your calls follow you wherever you go! Your branches are now local extensions…and hence, the savings in toll charges!

BNS offers two solutions for upgrading your old PBX. One is to help you deploy an inhouse system, and the other is to offer a hosted VoIP/PBX solution. The hosted solution would help get you up and running without worrying about the maintenance of your pabx.

Other features include Auto-Attendant, Call Distribution, Call Parking, Call Forwarding, Music-on-Hold, Ring-All, Extension groups and many more! Our VOIP/PABX solution is suitable for call centers, information centers and the like.

Monitor Network and Control bandwidth usage

Why Use network monitoring?

Network monitoring allows a company to find out how internet is being accessed by employees. Almost all internet activity can be monitored AND recorded —with BNS’ complete network monitoring solution.

Network Monitoring benefits:

Bandwith hogs.
Want to know who among your employees are spending the most time surfing web sites? Which employees chat the most? You can even ‘see’ the transcript of the chat conversation! Find out who is sending the most emails with attachments?

Latecomers and Idle workers.
Who is arriving to work late and leaving early? What times are they active? What times are they idle on the keyboard? What are my employees searching for on the Internet? Possible! These are just few of what our monitoring system solution has to offer, which level of detail is so precise that you can see what an employee does each and every second.

Prevent data leakage.
BNS network monitoring system lists the users that extract data from your network. Did they send out the mailing list? Did they copy sensitive information over to the thumb drive? Did they burn to CD or DVD or download to iPod your company’s proprietary information?

Network monitoring systems uncover Internet abuse,  improve office productivity, protect against leakages of confidential information. It highlights inappropriate activities by users that may expose a company such as yours to avoidable financial, legal and other preventable risks.

Network Monitoring: Storage Requirements

Each client generates approximately 15 meg per day of data based on a default (*) installation. You will need to determine the storage requirements based on the amount of captured data you want to keep “active” on the server.  Backups can be stored off-server to save space.

Assuming 500 users that have a client recorder installed with the default configuration, we would expect you to generate approximately 7.5 GB per day, 150 GB per month (20 business days).

*A Default installation is defined as defined as capturing the following: (each of the items below have additional capture options available when creating your deployment file.)

   1. Capturing all exchange Email and web Email without any attachments.
   2. Capturing all Web Site Visits
   3. Capturing all Chat and IM activity
   4. Capturing all Keystroke Activity
   5. Capturing all Application Activity
   6. Capturing all Network Activity
   7. Capturing all File Transfer Activity
   8. Capturing Document Tracking Activity of drive type CD/DVD, And Removable Drives.
   9. Screen Snapshot Capture once every 30 seconds in 4 bit gray scale – Using one monitor

The single largest data point is the screen snapshots.  The daily storage requirement can drop to as little as 2 – 3 meg per day should the snapshots be disabled and increase to as much as 100 meg or more should they be taken every few seconds in color with multiple monitors.  There are many options to configure the snapshots to get the correct settings.

For a 100-500 licenses, you will need:

Server with 2 dual core processors
2-4 Gigabytes memory
RAID 10 is recommended for  more than six months of storage and/or security of data

Reducing NDR Spams with SenderID tool

First of all, what is NDR?

NDR stands for Non-delivery Report. These are emails. Basically, you receive this type of NDR emails because an email you sent to someone did not reach the intended recipient.

But why are you getting NDRs from mail servers for mail you NEVER sent? The answer: Spammers are spoofing your email address. They are claiming to be YOU when they send out emails (oh yes it can be done easily).

So let us say that your email address is user@domain.com. A spammer got hold of your email and then ’spoofs’ it. This means that the spammer is now sending out spam using YOUR email address. Because spammers send out thousands of emails – (some to wrong address), the mail servers of the domain will naturally send out a notice that the email could not be sent (either the reciepient is non-existent, or the mailbox is full).

These Non delivery notices via email are then sent to the sender’s email address. In the above scenario, they will be sent back to you. Even if you did not really send the email in the first place! And that explains why you are getting tons of NDR emails even if you did not send any emails out!

The internet community has come up with a way to combat or reduce these types of NDRs and spams. It is called the SPF (Sender provider framework). In simple terms, we put up a record on your domain that says email from your domain can only be sent out from a list of accredited email servers. This makes it hard for spammers that use their own mail servers to ’spoof’ your identity anymore. This will reduce the spam they send out, and also reduce the NDR spams you get!!

Interesting now isnt it? So how do you enable SPF on your domain? The solution is fairly simply as well!

Use Microsoft’s senderID tool and follow the prompts. For our hosted clients that need us to enable their SPF on their domains, kindly contact your account executive to start the process! Do let us know if this has helped you and your experience with NDR once the SPF has been implemented.
